Is it possible to get a .STEP file of the BPI-R4Pro? Also, it will be awsome if the .DXF file had a side view and not just TOP and BOTTOM. Thank you in advance.
The casing 3D file will be nice as well.

Also i asked. There’s no problem with sharing, actually. I think the seller wants to sell case.
Do someone know which sim card holder to use?
For iPhone 5, assuming the Pro version uses the same SIM cages as the original.
BPI R4 Pro doesn’t have sim card holders. Sims are push-clicked in place like the SD card.
Yes, there are many people who have encountered the problem of SIM cards not being recognized with R4. However, not many people have reported issues with R3mini. So the design removed the R4 card slot design and adopted the card slot design like R3mini instead.
Dear developers, We are really looking forward to receiving the .STEP file of the PCB. We are not satisfied with the enclosure you provide and would like to design our own custom case. Please give us the opportunity to do so.
Hello,
Banana Pi will not publish the STEP file — at least for their latest products (R3, R4, etc.), which only have a DXF file available. I assume it will be the same for the R4 Pro. This is where “open source” ends for Banana Pi.
But you can download the DXF file and create the STEP file yourself:
I tried that for R3
:
→ Sure, it’s time-consuming…
But you still have the option to do it!
You mean the STEP files from the case itself. There are DXF files for the PCB, which can be converted to STEP.
What size fans are used in this case? Having those published so people can buy third party fans would be very helpful.
It seems you want to use the official case. If so, measure it and check Noctua’s website for a compatible fan: https://www.noctua.at/en
The easiest option is to look on AliExpress:
compatible noctua fan product codes - [BPI-R4 PRO] Hardware assembly - #16 by rbtree
well, the bigger top fan is a hack
but fits by chance
Thank you this is outstanding. I should have searched more before asking!
Thank you! Any news on compatible 5G modems? I realise no drivers have been loaded yet is that still the case?
I’m only interested in the official OpenWrt version from OpenWrt, not the Banana Pi one. I don’t even know which kernel the Banana Pi OpenWrt version uses.
→ Yes, I see the comments:
The Firmware Selector doesn’t include the R4 Pro yet: https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org
I’m not planning to buy the Pro within the next 6 months.
It looks like you’re still in your orientation phase.
If you have general questions, please open a new topic (because this is the case thread
).
Yes, we have addressed this issue. You only need to update the corresponding image to use the 5G module.
Very good.
But as I said, I’m only interested in the official OpenWrt builds: https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org
As of now, there is only R4 and R4 Lite (Snapshot):
That said, I’m thankful for supporting OpenWrt developers
with hardware!
