Power adapter for BPI-F3

Hi,

I would like to ask if I can use the following power adapter for my BPI-F3. I also have a 12V 2A power adapter but it seems 12V 3A are required for the BPI-F3.

I was able to find out that higher amperage might be beneficial in cases where other peripherals are connected to the board but I’m still not sure whether 5A is safe to use.

I don’t think you can have too many amps

Hi wiktorpyk, thanks for your reply, so I asked the seller and he said 12V 5A is compatible.

I think we need a new forum thread about how to power the BPI-F3 using USBC power.

Is it that the BPI-F3 has USB-C Power Delivery protocol negotiation ability, and when USBC is connected, it will attempt to negotiate to 12V, which is then used as input voltage?

Similarly, when the RT5400B POE HAT is soldered onto the BPI-F3 (as mentioned here Banana Pi BPI-F3 | BananaPi Docs), that module has a voltage stepper that will feed the BPI-F3 with 12V?

And finally the last way to power the BPI-F3 is via barrel, which is also 12V.

So the BPI-F3 has voltage steppers for instance to supply the M.2 and MiniPCI slots with 3.3V, right?

If you have URL:s to documentation that confirms or clarifies each of the points above would be great.
