Do you want the BPI-R4 Pro FPC network adapter board?

Do you need this FPC network adapter board?

This board is for internal testing and is not yet officially for sale. Note: We have only tested its network transmission; no further reliability testing has been conducted.

Let me know how many people need it.

IMO most people want a PoE out - i dont understand why a “pro” board like the R4 pro has none.

Poe-out would need a much more powerful supply and bigger/better regulators. Imho you better using external poe adapters if you need it

the idea behind poe out is to not require a extra poe adapter

that it requires a stronger power supply should be clear, as it powers the other device too.

I believe POE is 48 volt at 1 Amp. So it would need a very strong power supply.

dont believe.

poe is 12.95w, poe+ is 25.5w per end-device

Just back to topic. I thought the fpc adapter will be sold too as it was listed in the spec,so i got one for adding the software support (in my repo). Will change to overlay to have it visible only when needed.

Imho cable is currently a bit short and case does not have abilities for mouting the subboard.

Yes, BPI wants to see how many people need this adapter board so they can figure out how to arrange it.
