well we could say: For any Pi-related device, we re usually gonna use ARM compatible OSes.
eg Raspbian, which is Raspberry Pi’s fork of Debian. we also could do straight Debian, or we could use a Linux distro such as Ubuntu or Red Hat.

CPU frequency you could set by yourself,but when cpu run as 1.2G,it would be very hot.

I instaled centos (2018-01-12-centos-7-lite-v1.0-bpi-m2u-sd-emmc.img.zip) on a ssd disk. It works as expected. If needed I can describe the procedure.
