Why LED for sim slot 1 light up, when no sim inserted?

Im running OpenWrt 24.10.0-rc2 on my banana pi r4

Backstory, I inserted the sim trays incorrectly at first, then realized, and was able to bend the pins back without issue. If there are only 6 pins and none more hiding, they are all aligned and i did not power anything up with anything bent. Im just saying this as a disclaimer. Ive seen my sim be detected in that slot later, only a few times. But now im having trouble getting my modem to see the simcard. Even with a pci to m.2 adapter with its own sim slot.

This is the picture in reference (with red led for sim slot 1). Ive been chasing my tail for three days now. And it seems like a possible defective bpi4 board.

I get this in the openwrt logs constantly:

I confirmed the slot is working with a seperate ATT sim, and an EM12g lte m.2 card in slot 1. Something is funky with my FM190W-GL modem. Though not sure why that LED is on when no sim or modem is installed.
