Waterproof outdoor case for BPI-R4?

Is there a waterproof outdoor case for BPI-R4?

If not, what do you all think about putting one inside a waterproof tupperware with external antenna hookups and cable glands for power, Ethernet, etc. The idea is to mount the whole thing on a roof as a 5G router.

Something like this: Pardon our interruption...

Hi,

Is it better to use this kind of case with holes?

Pay attention to matching with waterproof connectors. image

Looks cool, but is that metal case custom manufactured for BPI-R4 with 5G and WiFi? With all antennas?

If not, plastic is better because you can easily drill whatever holes you want for power, ethernet, etc. You also need flat walls to make a good seal.

One can use cable glands to get a tight seal around the cables without having to worry about waterproof ports like in your example. Those are very unreliable / not really waterproof.

PS: The example boxes I sent were not well researched… there are probably much better options out there.

The pictures on the Internet are not custom manufactured for BPI-R4,just for your reference.

These metal shells require the antenna to be placed outside. The advantage is that they are more durable than plastic ones.

However, plastic ones should be fine as long as they can be sealed well, and they are easier to make.
