Unable to locate package linux-tools-generic

Hi all, I am new to the Banana pi hardware. I Installed the Rasbian OS “2020-04-10 update Raspbian Stretch, kernel 4.4” from this website https://wiki.banana-pi.org/Banana_Pi_BPI-M2_ZERO in my hardware. It works fine, but the problem is when I type the command “sudo apt-get install linux-tools-generic” it throws the error like this “E: Unable to locate the package linux-tools-generic”. Need support to overcome this issue. Thanks in Advance.

Thank you. After some research on that link u provided, I think this issue is because of the kernel version in my device. I will try to update/install the latest one.

Also start with Armbian. It has way better support.

Thank you. I will try that, but before, I wanna make sure if I can update the kernel or not. Also I didn’t find any appropriate solution to update the kernel version in the current OS installed in the hardware BPI-M2 zero. Current kernel version is 4.4.55, the latest version is 5.15.61. Any suggestions?

you can’t. with armbian you can.

Yes, you were right, I can’t update the kernel version. If I want to install the Armbian OS, which version I can go for and where? I am very confused by choosing the correct version. Thanks in advance

You will download one, spent some time exploring, then choosing next … read some documentation, make some friends with armbian community, ask perhaps there … You can also purchase commercial support. Plenty of options.
