i have a very wierd behaviour which i never had before. i always build my own images and use $openwrt/files/etc/… to have them pre-configured. makes life much easier. So i sometimes upgrade my openwrt with git pull --rebase, build the image, flash it, all good. But somehow, it does not work as expected. When i boot such image now, i always stuck in initramfs.
I created Always in initramfs when using files/etc - For Developers - OpenWrt Forum because i first thought its only because the files/etc i used, but now i noticed… this always happens. anyone an idea what is causing that or how to figure out why this happens?
i will update here and test some revisions and maybe do a bisect…
9ec32cfb27 seems to work
eec11fbbb6 works too
c83e275c9b good too
i’ll start bisecting…
git bisect start
git bisect bad main

80ba925d022443287253b4f653c432604b6d3aad is the first bad commit
i will continue tomorrow verifying. makes imo no sense that this commit leads to fails like that.
flashed the first image of the probably broken commit to the sd (that was used all the time) and it failed.

flashing now 2 different SDs with that image and see if it also occurs, to be sure its not a problem with the sd and/or the flashing hardware. having the same behaviour on 3 SD. will now go -1 commit and test again with 3 SD. first flash with 80b on SD is broken (initramfs). will do this now 2 more times just to be sure.
