[SOLVED] BananaPI R3 5V power supply

Hi, Can I use 5V power supply for BananaPI R3? If yes then it should be something around 3A I assume?

For BPI-R3 any 12v 2A power suply should be sufficient. At least it is what I’m using.

Just wondering can I use my 5v UPS with bananaPI, as long I’m not using any 12V ext. devices.

BPI-R3 needs 12V power. Afaik 5V is not possible without additional step-up regulator…

and then if you half the voltage you have to double the current…12V*2A=24W…24W/5V=4.8A
