Recommended image for WiFi client?

Hi,

What image is recommended for WiFi client? Basically I want to use WiFi as WAN. I’ve tried Frank-w’s Ubuntu 18 4.14 image but WiFi wasn’t enabled so I installed it by following this guide

then with nmcli I connected to my 2.4GHz DD WRT AP with MAX bars but then I was shocked with the ping. It was around 30ms which is quite a lot, my phone and laptop from the same distance get a ping of 1 - 2 ms.

You have not to build new kernel,but using wmttools (should be available on this image) to enable wifi-device by “echo 1” instead of “echo a”
