I have a R4 with a SFP-RJ45-Adapter and i use it with my mainboard (ASrock B850), which unfortunately only has 2.5gbe. So i thought i go and buy a 10GBE nic. I just got one (AQC113) which did not work as expected, i assume its a faulty one. Now i am thinking about to buy something else. Anyone experience with e.g. https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005010332385474.html (would be much cheapter than the AQC113)? Or any other recommendation? It should be used on the pcie 4 x1 slot.
While I haven’t tested the RTL8127 based NICs myself, I’ve seen people testing them over on the ServeTheHome forum and STH has also reviewed one of the models you can find on AliExpress:
The NICs based on the RTL8127 PHY are currently the most efficient 10GBASE-T NICs as far as I’m aware, so if you need 10GBASE-T (i.e. 10G RJ45) instead if an SFP+ NIC and a cheap DAC, it would presumably be a good choice.
