Pi 4 : heat sink - To fan or not to fan?

Question :

What is the best heatsink?

I saw a few with a fan on the top, and I saw plenty of thick aluminium heatsinks.

Are there any that can do some passive cooking ( e.g no fan needed) or does this equate to lots of heat if I use a 2.5Gb port over copper?

It is for the lounge. I value peace and quiet.

To have one with fan, it doesn’t make any noise and start to spin when doing some stuff on the R4. one can do better can do less as well

will check temp once i get those sfp+ modules to work :@

Hi,

Do you mean that the fan won’t make any noise even when it’s spinning?

at least, i cant hear mine…i don’t think it is full throttle but it is quite silent.

I will put mine in the lounge. Is yours quiet enough for a lounge?
