Just built my BPI-R3 and I put all the 5GHz antennas on one side and the 2.4GHz on the other. It works fine and “makes sense” as all the descriptions of beam forming I have read assume the antennas are in line. But I guess actual deployed algorithms may be more complex, and for multi-path it might be better to distribute the antennas a bit … so lots of questions Does anyone have a good understanding of theory and practice ?

Thanks, I missed that one. Interesting but still doesn’t tackle beam forming capability and how that may be affected by antenna placement. Right now I’m sticking with my original config’ as it works well and it would be hard to measure and compare different arrangements.
