Openwrt breaks down after kmod-usb-storage installation

After installing kmod-usb-storage via opkg and then restarting bpi-r3, it won’t load kernel modules for normal operation at all.

Opkg doesn’t want to work anymore, no wifi, and not able to do anything, fresh install can only solve it! I wanted to attach a usb hdd, but r3 restarts immediately.

Has anyone encountered the same problem?

Is it possible to attach hdd?

Firmware Version OpenWrt 23.05.0-rc2 r23228-cd17d8df2a / LuCI openwrt-23.05 branch git-23.118.79121-6fb185f

Please use the stable release which has become available a while ago: http://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/23.05.2/targets/mediatek/filogic/openwrt-23.05.2-mediatek-filogic-bananapi_bpi-r3-sdcard.img.gz

Please report if you have any problems with USB storage on 23.05.2 as well (23.05.0-rc2 may have all sorts of problems which have already been addressed).

Thank you for your kindly response! I will try it!
