Newbie Help with R4-Lite+BE14

Hi all, please excuse for my questions but this is my first *PIE board so I know I have to learn a lot.

I’ve just assembled the R4-Lite board with the Be14 WiFi 7. I’ve set the bootstrap switch to boot from sd card, flashed the OpenWRT-24.10 MT76 OpenSource wifi driver wifi SDK for BE14000 Wifi Card(1PCIE,2Lane) image to and SD and booted the system without problems. OpenWRT is up and running I see wifi and configured via openwrt web interface WPA2-3 PSK. After some minutes it stop working without logging any error. The radio signal on the WiFi client is up but every page request fail. Is there any known problem with the BE14 drivers?

Can anyone please recommend a stable image to use? I just need basic routing services to share my ETH connection to wifi clients.

thanks for the help

Do you use heatsinks? I’ve noticed that R4Lite gets hot fast because the soc/seitch chip and wifi card is very close together. But did not made any wifi or stability tests with R4Lite (i have no heatsink),only basic support yet.

frank, no I’m not using heatsinks … I just completed a new order for both heatsinks (BPI-R4 Lite aluminum heatsink and Heatsink for BPI-R4-BE14 WIFI7 module). Let’s see if this fixed the problem. I’ll report back as soon as they arrive …
