the WS33-2421 chip on my BPI-M5 reaches 75°C and i want to try replace it. does anyone know where to get something which can replace it? thank you
Hello, could you please show me the location of the WS33-2421 chip using a picture? I’ll look it up for you.
Yes, the same chip model could not be found in the M5. Could you provide a photo to indicate its location?
This device is used to power the SD card slot. Could you please check if the voltages VIN and EN are normal?
I used an M5 with the same component, but the overall temperature didn’t reach 75℃ either. It’s possible your component is faulty.
My measurements show VIN: 5.05V and EN: 3.3V.
This indicates that your chip is not working properly, or it may be faulty.

Is the VDDAO_3.3V power supply normal?

After powering off, please use a multimeter to check if EN and GND are short-circuited.
EN and GND are short-circuited
It seems the chip is burnt out. See if you can buy a replacement online. Before replacing it, please remove the original components and measure EN and GND again to ensure it’s just a chip failure and not a short circuit inside the board.
thank you for your help
