I’m using the R4 with the latest openwrt snapshot (from the 21st I think) and connect my Google Pixel 6 via the USB-A port to share my phones internet with the R4 and thus my connected devices.
Unfortunately the connection is quite “wonky” and keeps being disrupted regulary. I didn’t have the issue before when directly connecting the phone to my PC via USB tethering or wifi hotspot.
The ethernet connection via ssh to the R4 is stable. No issues.
I’m testing it by keeping a ping a running endlessly. Some issues with ping or dropped packets are normal for 4G/5G, but those dropped connections aren’t.
Anyone else has tried USB tethering with the R4? Do you also have connectivity issues?
Is there a way to debug the USB connection to check if there are issues on that layer?
