DATO M.2 2242 SSD 1TB, PCIe Gen3x4 NVMe 1.3 Internal Solid State Drive (from Amazon)

Works very well as external overlay and data repository. Relatively inexpensive.

/dev/nvme0n1:

Timing cached reads: 3288 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1646.69 MB/sec

Timing buffered disk reads: 2356 MB in 3.00 seconds = 785.32 MB/sec

I use a Samsung PM981 256GB drive in the pcie slot on the bottom (key-m). Works without any problems.
