BPI-Router-Linux 7.1-main boot stuck

Hi @frank-w I decided to test your 7.1-main repo just now

it got stuck just after this

[    0.854603] mtk-xsphy soc:xs-phy@11e10000: failed to get ref_clk(id-1)
[ 0.869748] mtk-socinfo mtk-socinfo.0.auto: error -ENOENT: Failed to get socinfo data
[    0.877707] mtk-socinfo mtk-socinfo.0.auto: probe with driver mtk-socinfo failed with error -2

I haven’t changed u-boot using the following bootconf

bootconf=#conf-base-r4pro#ov-pro-sd

shouldn’t it be instead

bootconf=#conf-base-r4pro-8x#ov-pro-cn13#ov-pro-cn14#ov-pro-sd ? I noticed on 7.1 the base R4 Pro DTS doesn’t sets both PCIe selector GPIO hogs to output-high… i guess i need to use bootconf with the cn14 and cn13

let me know thank you

ah, right, possibly it hangs when pcie-hogs are not set…so choose for both pcie (2+3) the right overlay

the other errors are not critical…xsphy comes first, but on retry it works and the socinfo is something imho mt7988 does not support

so, I had to restore what i had on 7.0 to 7.1 … in order to use the mxl862x downstream changes had to be made, here’s the commit

I left your lan0 (was lan1 in 7.0 on my repo) change …

now to wifi mt76/mac80211 most likely need to do the same as the MxL changes made …don’t think people test at all new kernels

I do not want to use the mxl downstream driver inain repo. We have to get mainline driver working here. Not heared about newer firmware yet,but basicly upstream driver worked for me at basic level
