BPI-R4 Talos Linux Support

Hey

I just bought this and I’m trying to set it up (and having some fun crash coursing myself into building an arduino USB to TTY adapter to see what’s going on on the board).

Is there any steps on how to potentially setting up a Talos Linux img that can work on the R4. Worst case I can try setting up Debian but it would be nice if I could get away with Talos for my entire set up.

Be careful…arduino is 5v afaik…bananapi ttl is 3v3

Never heared about talos linux, but if you can generate an arm64 rootfs it should be possible to replace debian rootfs with it

Thanks for the heads up

Sorry I’m a little new when it comes to Linux do you have any docs, etc that could help explain specifically what I need to do?

Sorry for my naivety on this & thanks for your help

I use debootstrap to create debian rootfs…if you have something similar for your distribution and it supports arm64 you could use my debian image and replace content of rootfs partition

Cannot help more as i do not know talos linux

I see there is a arm64 iso, maybe you can mount it as loopdev and extract the rootfs to put it on sdcard (only rootfs because you need r4 bootchain+kernel)
