So, good and bad news is my faulty BPI R4 Pro X8 which worked flawlessly until the fan headers stopped working (seperate thread on this) was returned and a full refund was granted.
I took the fast refund method on Ali Express (Stupid Me) and I had purchased the first board at £172, the 2nd board cost me £240 Grr from Seller MII Store, after 2 weeks of saying my item has been dispatched, they annoyed the heck out of me by cancelling my order, and have increased the board to a whopping £450 which I assume is because they have run out of stock and wish to keep the item listed for ranking purposes.
Mii Store obviously don’t focus to much on customer service, why would they make my order as dispatched within 10mins and then cancel it two weeks later? My other guess here is they are trying to look good on paper to Ali Express with fast shipping, when really my order hadn’t been shipped and they just waited and waited, and canceled.
Sinovoip isn’t listing the board on Ali that’s why I went with MII Store, all other sellers have more than doubled the price. So I assume, they have run out of stock.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but it is my understanding BPI do batch runs, and we’re just waiting for them to do another branch run and restock? Then sinovoip will list them as soon as that’s done?!
I looked on BPIstore too, that came to $400+ which is also insane. I hope the pricing increase has nothing to do with the AI demand for RAM.
I’m gutted in away, the board was so good, and I just want a replacement, but frankly not prepared to pay double what I initially paid.
