I recently purchased an BPI-R4-Lite and have a small problem with it, which I cannot seem to solve. Nothing I cannot workaround but it still bothers me.
When I connect a FritzBox to one of the RJ45-LAN-ports, it always switches down to 100mbit.
When I connect the FritzBox to the SFP-Port (via a SERDES-Gbic) or the 2.5Gbit’s WAN-port the speed is 1000mbit.
Cable and ports are not the problem (every other device, no matter if NAS, Laptop or whatever, works on every port with 1000Mbit) and in the FritzBox “Green Mode” as well as “EEE” are turned off (for all ports).
When I check via ethtool the BPI tells me that the FritzBox is advertising only 100baseT/Full max (despite everything is set to 1Gbit). When I set BPI to only advertise 1000Mbit/s or turn off autonegotiation, no connection is established at all.
I fiddled around a bit with the autonegotiation of the rx and tx parameters and at some point it worked with 1000Mbit/s (although it took almost two minutes to establish a link) but I cannot seem to repeat this.
Any ideas?
