I’m building a router with BPI r-3 using an official metal case. One of the key features of that router should be use of celluar data, i.e 4g modem. I have it running programmatically, but one question still stands: the case offers no mounts for antennas except those used for wifi.
I tried mounting antennas internally, but as it turns out, those weren’t working correctly (the case is possible issue because I instantly connected by opening it). This made me think of removing 2 of wifi antennas and swapping them for modem 4g antennas as a clean solution.
To be sure, though, I would like to ask if this would not be an issue for banana pi itself. I’m planning on disconnecting one 2.4ghz antenna and one 5ghz and replug those connectors into a modem. Will it be safe for the amplifiers? I am planning on using both wifi channels. I am thinking of disconnecting plugs with the highest id number on board (WF3), assuming that ports WF0 are main antennas while ports 2-3 are auxiliary.
Any suggestions if this is not an option are welcomed.
