BPI-R2 Pro startup Problem

Hello all,

I bought a Bpi-R2 pro and I am not sure if it is working well.

I operate it at a 12V 2A AC/DC adapter. After plug-in power a the red led turned on. After pushing the power swtich nothing else happens. I expected some green Led, like I recognized in some videos on youtube, but nothing either. There is also not output on the HDMI which I expected from the Bootloader.

Anyway I followed the Instructions from the Getting-Started page. I downloaded the OpenWRT Image for SD-Card and the usb-upgrade tool for Linux. The tool quits with the message: No Rockchip device found, please connect any rockchip device.

Is the device fine? What I am doing wrong? What is the expactable bhavior for a brand new device just after turning it on?

Here is the dmesg log if I just connect the device:

[ 183.783363] usb 2-1: Product: USB Serial

I have the same problem. I thought you can use it like every SBC, but no. There is a sd-card tool which is only in chinese language, and they need a firmware update, which nowhere could be found. I’m disappointed.
