  1. About this release This release is for banana pi R2 board which is based on MTK7623N, and it just includes Ubuntu image which is based on Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS Mate Desktop with Linux kernel 4.4.70, we can get the Linux kernel 4.4.70 from the link: https://github.com/BPI-SINOVOIP/BPI-R2-bsp

  2. What’s new : This is first official release for banana pi R2 board, the following features are supported:

    1. Root file system: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS Mate Desktop, default user name/password are pi/bananapi , root/bananapi
    2. Linux kernel: 4.4.70
    3. HDMI 1080P & 480P & 720P
    4. Two GE ports(One is WAN port, another is connected to 4 LAN ports)
    5. SATA disk
    6. Two usb3.0 ports
    7. IR
    8. OTG
    9. PWM1/PWM2/PWM3
    10. GPIO

  3. Known limitations

    1. Both PWM4 and PWM5 are not supported
    2. WIFI/BT isn’t supported
    3. Don’t support booting from EMMC
    4. MIPI interface doesn’t work
