Will there be updated official debian images for the BPI-M2 Pro? Because Debian Buster has already finished LTS support in June 2024. Latest Armbian images for BPI-M2 Pro has power management bugs: WiFi rtl8821cu could not load after reboot: HDMI displays does not receives power off commands and stay highlighted.
If you want modern software support, you will need to start supporting open source developers that are behind this. Most of the code is written from scratch and moving kernel is significantly more complex to maintain. This is the reason why you get static image that never gets updated.
Armbian provides wonderful SDK to help you or your team addressing remaining bugs. They are not Armbian bugs as Armbian works perfectly on standard hardware or within VM.
