Best banana pi router

I want to create a performant wi fi router using a banana pi device. I will use it also asa a ftp server & video streaming service. I want to install a linux distro that MUST HAVE a GUI. What do you recommend?

up! Can anyone help me? Thanks!

the newest router devices (R3+R4) have no hdmi so not usable as video streaming device, only old r2 and r2pro have this, but last one is not good as router (lan-ports only connected via 1G, less than old R2, no on-board wifi and only 1 pcie slot). internal wifi of old r2 is only supported till 5.15 as there are breaking changes in linux 6.0 where i could not adapt the huge driver to.

what about the type c port? can be used as a display port? Or remote connect but having a GUI? Thanks!

Imho you can always run invisible gui and show it remotely with vnc similar protocol. Usb-c on r4 is only for power, afaik there is no gpu or grafics engine in hardware.

i think i will wait for a more powerful 8Gb RAM BPI, with minimal graphics capabilities then. It is pitty to waste such a potential for BPI R4, of course it was thought to be a router, but versatility should had been in the designers mind. Thanks for help!
