Beginner's Problems and Questions

Hello everyone and have a good mood. I have been using banana for about a month now and I have a few questions.

  1. I still have a problem with Wi-Fi, 5GHz does not work, I read a topic on GitHub that it is related to using a serial console (UART), but I still did not understand how to fix and fix it. I only use 2.4. (I used CH340 and PL2303)
  2. I have an official clean OpenWRT 23.05.5 installed on EMMC, as I understand it, logging is enabled, which reduces the resource of the chip. How to disable it?
  3. OpenWRT is only 100 MB available by default. I know that there are guides to solve this problem, but it all looks very complicated. Maybe someone made the perfect file for the firmware where a lot of memory is available and logging is disabled?

Hi,

  1. use ftdi

2/3 openwrt specific, need to be answered by openwrt users/devs, 100m issue is discussed multiple times, and yes it’s not easy to fix,but depends on some internal structure (not using gpt for rootfs which would allow simple resize) and upgrade mechanism.

That is, should I buy FTDI and flash the router again? I first had the CH340. I was told to buy PL2303 and now it turns out I need FTDI and flash it again? God this is impossible…

Who told using profilic? It should not be used also for bpi-r2 where it has also issues. R3+R4 only ftdi, older can use also cp2102

You can boot from sd to test…no need to flash router for now…
