Banana Pi Zero DC in power options

Has anybody had any success in powering the zero via another method other than through the micro usb port? I understand the gpio pins can supply voltage but not receive. Any other ideas?

you can use GPIO 5V power zero , GPIO pin can receive 5V power.

Is that 100% confirmed that the zero will boot from those pins? Only I have used a usb lead to my computer and it works fine to the micro usb power port. When I connected a usb stem to the gpio ports just power and ground it would come on but not boot. On the boot screen a little <6 would appear and then disappear. Any thoughts?

yes , please see this link;

I can confirm mine is working. For some reason I had to disable the desktop, which isn’t needed anyway. Plus it only seemed to fire up my access point once I’d plugged in my usb keyboard. Reboot, unplug hdmi and usb keyboard and the zero boots fine and all services start. Thank you team for the support.
