Banana pi R4 wifi 6 not working

Installed the newest snapshot a few days ago amd can only get wifi 5 to work, wifi 6, 7, and 2.4 do not, I can get the 2.4 and 6 to not say disabled on the ststus screen but wont transmit with any power

According to the first screenshot all the interfaces are up and running. Even selected a channel.

Did you maybe forget to set passwords for them? WPA3 doesn’t allow no password.

For me the screen looks the same - it only displays TX power, if a client is actually connected to that channel.

They say up but neither are broadcasting and yes they are setup with WPA3, also there are no bitrates

I did get the 2.5 one to work, randomly an openwrt ssid showed up and i deleted the old one and renamed it and set security and its working but can get the 6ghz to function properly

Did you manage to at least get nice throughput in the Wi-Fi 5? Mine is super slow, and Wi-Fi 6 does not work.

Should we maybe have a separate thread for wifi speed issues? That also gives instructions on how to produce comparable data.

Because I’d like to help others here, but I have no idea what I should measure. I got a 600/300 MBit fiber connection that I could test. Or directly test between device and router. So yeah, those instructions (and a new thread ) would certainly help.

Edit: even found an android app that supports iperf3.

on the new Openwrt snapshot wifi 6 isnt even an option, Im getting pretty good speed through wifi 5 but as I said Wifi 6 isnt even an option

I’m wondering what I’m doing wrong. Mine is with 50Mpbs max :frowning: I have Iperf3 installed in a local server, testing from my laptop. With my other router (non openwrt), I can hit 600mps easy, definitely it is something broken or I did wrong. Can you share the config you made there and the snapshot version? I’m also wondering which card (0, 1 or 2) you have used for the wifi 5.

Thanks.

I am using 6GHz wifi 6 on my pixel 6 phone and got around 400Mbps with iperf at around 8 meters and 800Mbps at 2 meters distance.

people need to think that wifi7 is about short distances they are not going to ever have the throughput as wifi6 maybe wifi7 mesh will solve this problem but that’s it don’t expect miracles
