AsiaRF 7916 Alternatives?

Hi, I’m new to networking (especially openWRT) and wanted to build a 10G router to learn/for fun. I’m just getting started, so I don’t want to spend a lot of money on a project like this until I gain more knowledge. I don’t want to entirely spring for a WiFi 7 module, and I like the AsiaRF 7916 6e that people have gotten to work with their R4s.

However, I cannot find it locally here or on AliExpress. Shipping adds up quite a bit from the official site. I wanted to check if there are other alternatives I could try to find locally before I spring for the 7916.

If anyone finds this thread in the future like I did, if you’re in europe, you can get asiarf products via 524wifi

I just received a 7990 and some other goodies from them after finding out about asiarfs shipping fees, quite happy that I didn’t order it straight from asiarf since their fee is the cost of an entire product lol

Can you share some of your experiences? How does it perform with a R4?
