Hi everyone, I am having a difficult time finding a modem that is supported by the Banana PI R3. I would like a 4G modem that will work with the R3 and open wrt, it also needs to work in the North American continent. My cell phone carrier uses Verizon towers. I know that the R3 has a mini PCI slot that runs in USB 2.0 mode. I looked on Amazon and Ali Express and can’t find a card that operates in USB 2.0 mode. I found one card called the MC7455. It operates in Europe, North and South America. What do I need to know about finding modems? Do most models with with OpenWRT and the Banana PI? Is this modem good or do you guys know if something better? Thanks for your help!
I’ve also had success using the Telit LE910Cx family of modules. I’m running QMI which you may need to enable manually to start off. SixFab have some documentation on that though. I’ve even got the GPS working and luci-app-gpoint installed so I can see the location! (not much point most of the time since it’s not going anywhere but still fun)
I’m using em7455 on bpi-r4, note: u need force sim status or it’s always sim missing
