Ssd external HD to USB type A banana r4

Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue with my Banana Pi R4 and a portable SSD hard drive. My Banana Pi R4 does not seem to recognize the SSD when I connect it to the USB Type-A 3.2 port. Could someone please advise on what drivers I might need to enable this external SSD to be recognized by the USB port on the Banana Pi R4? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

I used ORICO USB4 NVMe SSD Enclosure 40Gbps M.2 to USB-C Adapter for NVMe and it works fine on original firmware

I have a 4TB SanDisk portable SSD, but it’s not being detected when I connect it. It’s formatted in ext4. Do I need to install any specific package with opkg for it to recognize the HD? I have installed drivers for tethering with a mobile, and that does work…
