Secondly I have not got a USB-C connector of my computer. It is old. USB-C might not even have existed by then.

Iā€™m not going down this route, because what youā€™ve suggested to buy has cost me five euros.

But now I have to buy a dupont cable which might cost me another five euros.

but of course this will not be able to connect to my computer so now I have to buy a converter to convert that to whatever runs of my computer, which is the USB-A cable.

then I will find that for some reason the driver doesnā€™t work so then Iā€™ll have to buy something else. Iā€™ve been down this path before.

Finally, my hands shake. Screwdrivers are difficult to use. I cannot plug those cables in. I have difficulty wiring a plug

It has got 4 cables, and I think 7 connectors on the PCB.

Does it come with instructions on which cables attach to which pins?

you have a 3pin-header on boardā€¦with pindescription RX,TX,GND, same on the adapterā€¦you have only swap rx and tx so that sender is on receiver.

make sure your adapter has 3v3 selected before connecting to bpi board

use putty or minicom (or any other you are familar with) with settings 115200 baud 8N1 flowcontrol off on the right serial device

Out of interest, has anybody successfully had a seller pay for the return item to SinoVoip using AliExpress?

AliExpress say the seller will pay for me to return the BPR4 and pay for the return postage, but do not provide a method to return the item.
