That sounds like this issue. Wonder if my hifiber 1g sfp have similar issue except they of course run no openwrt,but i get ENOXIO from eeprom.
I have a v1.1 board with 8GB RAM. Should I expect problems with the SFP ports?
I haven’t had any issues with it so far. 
I believe it’s only with some transceivers that people are seeing issues.
I’m currently using it with a passive DAC and a FlexOptix 10GBASE-T 100 meter transceiver. Since I own two BPI-R4 (both 8 GB RAM models), I could also try some of my 10GBASE-SR transceivers without messing with my main network, if that would help.
What transceivers do you plan to use?
