Wanted to quickly share that I made a bpi-r4 poe ceiling access point case. first pass.

Great job! This is a good solution while no openwrt support is available on other wifi7 aps. however it might be better to have fan mount and cooling mesh as this thing is really generating heat, maybe like this:Case design for the BPI-R4. another way I can think of is to use a large piece of metal as passive heatsink, which is what tplink/unifi does on their aps.

Thanks! Appreciate the feedback! You’re probably talking about my v2 case that I haven’t really shared here.

edit; temps with speed-test activities

cpu_thermal temp1 39.2 °C

nvme / Composite 32.9 °C

mt7996_phy0.0 / temp1 40 °C

mt7996_phy0.1 / temp1 40 °C

mt7996_phy0.2 / temp1 34 °C

this is so cool. looks like a ceiling light-fan-AP three-in-one monster

Thanks! Yes, the kids appreciate a hallway night light, with a ‘halo effect’ on it. Otherwise you can just use a regular 120mm fan.
