Nice idea! Maybe add an mesh on top of the fan? (… you know … cat/dog/kid paw prevention 
)
It’s certainly possible and simple to implement as the current design is purely out of aesthetics where I have the luxury of not needing to deal with these “hazards” 
I made couple internal antenna enclosures for R4 before which did not have these issues.
