Changing HDMI settings

Anyone know how to force the HDMI settings on the R2? Every image I have tried keeps coming up with Invalid format when connected to all the TV’s I have. Doing a cat /sys/class/graphics/fb0/modes or fbset shows only one mode of U:4096x2160p-0

No matter what I do in uEnv.txt or with fbset it always goes back to U:4096x2160p-0

I’m currently using 2017-09-04-ubuntu-16.04-mate-desktop-bpi-r2-sd-emmc-v1.2.0.img

have you looked in syslog/boot-log (debug-uart)?

maybe there can be hints, why it is not working…

can you set hdmi-settings via (x)randr?

as a workaround, you can call randr/fbset in a startup-script (e.g. /etc/rc.local )
