Bananpi R2: rootfs to RAID1

Hello everybody. I tried to transfer the rootfs on the SATA disk and I did it.

I decided to go further and created the RAID1 in two discs.

It started working after rebooting with it, so everything it is fine.

Then it was necessary to transfer the rootfs to RAID1. I did roughly the same things as I transferred the rootfs to one disk earlier. Only in uEnv.txt added RAID1 (/dev/md1)

What I changed only in uEnv.txt is settting rootfs=/dev/md0 My suspitions are that md0 raid is not assembled yet at time of booting. It is assembled afterwards by calling mdadm utilty, which is not called so early. What is your oppinion friends ? Please advice

which type of raid do you want to use? maybe it is not included in config

Or you need an initramfs with your mdadm config

I use your 4.14.158-bpi-r2-main kernel. I have suceeded to have the array assembled at boot time only after setting in uEnt.txt root=/dev/md2 rootfstype=ext4 md=2,/dev/sda3,/dev/sdb3 Additionaly the array must be created with metadata version 0.90. Newer format will not be assembled automatically. I hav’nt tested initramfs approach. THX Frank for your work.
